As you walk through the foyer, you will often smell the delicious scents coming from our Kitchen. Our qualified food safety supervisor, prepares home-cooked meals with no preservatives and adjusts them in relation to food allergies and intolerances. She provides 5 nutritious meals a day, which includes breakfast (prior to 7.15am), morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack.   Water and milk are available to children throughout the day, and water is always available, both indoors and outdoors.

The menu is based on a 4 week cycle with a spring/summer and autumn/winter menu. We make sure the menu has a wide variety of food and is designed to meet the needs of active, growing children.

Bumper Bears holds a current food licence issued by the Moreton Bay Regional Council, and we regularly undertake Council audits and checks to ensure our kitchen is to the highest standard. As part of this, we monitor the cooking temperature of foods and food storage areas, like fridges and freezers. These are documented daily and kept onsite in case we get audited.

We regularly review our menus and love to hear feedback from families, children and educators, so any ideas are warmly welcomed.  Our current menu is currently under review, so please, let us know what you think!

We have also established a "Community garden" in the car park for families so that they can take the produce home and cook with it to help the children learn and understand the importance of growing your own produce and caring for the environment.

We give children the opportunity to serve themselves at meal times, make decisions about how much food and the types of food on offer, and encourage learning about healthy food choices.
